This fun baby shower activity is a perfect icebreaker. Even if you’ve played it before, it’s always a new challenge because the game changes with the names of the parents-to-be. The activity can be played individually or in teams, making it versatile for any setting.
To start, write the full names of the mom-to-be and dad-to-be at the top of a piece of paper. Be sure to include both first and last names. Hand one sheet and a pen to each guest at the baby shower. Set a timer for five minutes.
The objective of this game is for each player to come up with as many names as possible using only the letters from the parents-to-be’s names. How to play
This classic baby shower activity is easy to prepare, always a hit, and works well for large groups. Simply provide each participant with a printed (or handwritten) column containing the letters A to Z.

Fun Twists
Come up with a boy’s name and a girl’s name for each letter
Write the name of a famous (fictional or not) parent for each letter
Ask guests to come up with words related to the parents-to-be
Another twist is to play the game after the gift opening and make the topic “things you can find in the room.” With so many gifts around, this encourages your guests to get creative with their answers.

Baby SongA Baby Shower Activity That Is Very Easy To Prepare
You will need:
Sheets of paper and pens.
How to play
This baby shower game is easy to set up. It requires almost no preparation, making it a great choice for a fun activity at any point during the celebration.
Start by dividing the guests and the parent-to-be into teams. Give each group a blank piece of paper and a pen. Challenge each team to write down as many song titles as possible that include the words “baby” or “child” in the lyrics. Set a timer for four minutes, and the team with the most correct song titles wins the game.
If you play this game at the beginning of the baby shower, you can add the winning team’s song suggestions to a playlist and play it in the background for the rest of the party, enhancing the atmosphere.
Fun Twist
For an extra element of fun, have a song with “baby” or “child” in the lyrics playing in the background, ideally one where those words appear frequently. This will create a playful atmosphere and may even confuse the teams, making the game more entertaining.

Diaper RaffleA Popular Baby Shower (and Sprinkle) Activity
You will need:
Tickets and nice prizes to win.
How to play
Inform your guests in advance that a diaper raffle will take place at the baby shower. Participation is entirely voluntary, but if a guest chooses to participate, they must bring at least one package of diapers. The more diapers they bring, the more chances they have to win exciting prizes. Guests will receive one raffle ticket for each package of diapers they bring, and bringing multiple packages will increase their odds of winning.
Ultimately, the parents-to-be will receive plenty of diapers, and everyone will enjoy the chance to win with their raffle tickets. It’s a win-win for all! Be sure to prepare some fantastic prizes for the winners.
Some Fun Twists
Encourage guests to creatively wrap their diaper packages. They can decorate them with baby-themed items, use a specific color scheme, make them eco-friendly, design them to resemble animals, create a cake-like appearance, or hide them in a cute gift bag. Consider rewarding the most creatively wrapped diaper package with a special prize!
Another fun idea is to have guests write a sweet, funny, or encouraging message on their diaper packages before handing them in. Whether it’s a poem, a humorous note for the parents, or a message to (or from) the baby, this adds a personal touch to the fun!
Don't Break Your WaterFast-Paced Baby Shower Game (with Outdoor Twist)
You will need:
An inflated balloon, three coins (or water balloons), and a bucket/bowl per participant.
How to play
Here’s a fun and fast-paced baby shower game designed for those who may not be pregnant but still want to experience the excitement of rushing to the restroom while trying to keep everything together! This competitive activity is one of my favorites, allowing the expecting mother to relax and enjoy watching her friends and family have a great time participating.
To set it up, ensure there is plenty of space - ideally outdoors or in a large room. Place a bucket on one side of the room or yard for each participant, and provide each person with three coins and an inflated balloon. Participants must place the balloon under their shirts and one coin between their knees.
When the game starts, players must race to their bucket quickly, trying to drop the coin inside without using their hands. After successfully dropping a coin into the bucket, they return to grab the next coin and repeat the process. The first person to get all their coins into the bucket wins the game. If a coin falls, the player must stop, pick it up, place it between their knees, and continue.
Outdoor Twist
For an outdoor twist, you can use water balloons instead of coins. Participants must hurry without “letting their water break” as they race to the bucket. It’s hilarious for the expecting mother to sit back and watch the fun!
Don't Drop the Baby!Fun Fast-Paced Outdoor Baby Shower Game for Onlookers
You will need:
One egg and a spoon for each participant, and some paint/markers/felt-tip pens for the eggs.
How to play
This fun and lively baby shower game is perfect for an outdoor setting with plenty of space for competition and enjoyment, while also avoiding any mess indoors!
To start, give each guest either a hard-boiled or raw egg, along with some paints or markers to decorate it like a baby. Once their “baby” is ready, the challenge begins. Guests must race through a course while balancing their decorated eggs on a spoon. If an egg is dropped or cracked, that guest is out of the game.
The first person to complete the course with an unscathed egg wins! To make it even more entertaining, you can decide whether guests should carry their spoons with their hands or, for an added challenge, with their mouths. If you choose the hand option, have them use their non-dominant hand to increase the difficulty.
The course can be straightforward, like a line across a lawn, or it can include obstacles to make it more exciting. Guests can crawl under tables, zigzag through cones, or step over hurdles, adding more thrill to the race.
Empty the Baby BottleA Fun Baby Shower Game (for Kids and Adults)
You will need:
A filled baby bottle for every participant.
How to play
At your baby shower, let the guests experience life from a baby’s perspective.
Each participant will receive a baby bottle filled with a beverage, such as lemonade, water, or infant formula. To make it more challenging, you can use a baby bottle with small holes. Once the game begins, everyone must drink quickly and empty their bottles. The first person to finish wins the game.
Find the Hidden NamesAn Easy and Fun Modern Baby Shower Name Game
You will need:
Sheets of paper, pens, and a list of popular names given to newborns in your country or region.
How to play
In this fun and unique baby shower game, create a list of some of the most popular names given to newborns the previous year in your area. For each name, omit some letters and print the pattern on paper to hand out. For example, a pattern for the name “Hannah” could look like this: H_ n _ _ h.
Players must guess which boy’s or girl’s name fits each pattern. Before the game begins, decide whether only names from the top 100 list will be accepted or if any name that fits the pattern is acceptable. Be sure to communicate your rules clearly to avoid confusion.
Set a timer for 5 minutes and let the fun begin! The winner will be the player or team that guesses the most correct names.
Finish the SentenceFun and Easy Game for the Baby Shower
You will need:
A list of baby, parent, and pregnancy-related words or phrases for participants to finish, sheets of paper, and pens.
How to play
If you’re looking for a friendly and fun activity, the game “Finish the Sentence” is an excellent choice. Below are two options for how to play, but I prefer the first option, which is perfect if the parent-to-be enjoys being in the spotlight.
To play, compile a list of 8 to 12 baby, pregnancy, or parent-related words and phrases for the players to complete. Hand out a copy to each guest and the parent-to-be, and don’t forget to provide everyone with a pen!
Option 1 - Matching Against the Parent-to-Be
In this version, the parent-to-be fills out their paper. At the same time, the other players try to finish the sentences on their own papers to match the parent-to-be’s responses.
This game is most enjoyable when everyone shares their answers! Once all participants have finished, go through each sentence and let everyone read their answers aloud before the parent-to-be reveals their responses. Players earn one point for each sentence that matches the parent-to-be’s answer. The player with the most matches wins!
Option 2 - Matching in Pairs
In this option, players form pairs and complete their sentences in a way that is similar to how their partner finishes theirs.
After everyone has completed their sentences, the pairs work together to score their answers and discuss their choices! Each pair earns one point for every sentence where they finished the same way. The pair with the most matches wins!
Have fun!

For this fun baby shower activity, gather photos of the parent-to-be from different stages of their childhood. Label each photo with a number and challenge the guests to guess the age of the parent in each photo.
To simplify setup, you can either place the photos on a table or hang them around the room to create a more interactive experience. This arrangement encourages mingling, allowing guests to move around and discuss their guesses with one another, making it an excellent icebreaker for the baby shower.
Ask everyone to write their names and guess the ages on a sheet of paper and submit them to you for review.
Sheet of paper where everyone can write their name and guesses.
How to play
A baby shower or baby sprinkle wouldn’t be complete without this fun and engaging game. In this activity, each guest will guess the baby’s arrival, including both the due date and the time of day.
You can choose to collect all the guesses yourself or have the guests write their predictions on paper, making sure they include their names. Feel free to add extra questions about the baby if you’d like.
For added enjoyment, consider using a calendar to record the guesses. Once all predictions are in, write them on the calendar. As the due date approaches, the parents-to-be can enjoy seeing who had the closest guess or keep all the predictions as a keepsake.
To make it a competition, reward the guest whose guess is closest to the actual arrival time. Let the guessing begin!

Baby food jars (and diapers for the dirty diaper version).
How to play
This fun baby shower activity will engage your guests’ senses as they try to guess different baby food flavors. Provide a selection of baby food jars, and have the guests (or just the parents-to-be) taste each one and guess its contents. For an added challenge, consider using blindfolds.
Option: Smell the Diaper
In this variation, participants skip tasting and rely solely on their sense of smell. Prepare several diapers by filling them with different foods and sealing them closed. Pass the diapers around, and have everyone smell them while writing down what food they think each one contains.
Option: Dirty Diaper
For an even more adventurous twist, try the “dirty diaper” version of the game. In this variant, the baby food is served in actual diapers, and participants must taste and identify the flavors. You can also use treats like chocolate to add to the experience.
Guess the Baby PictureA Fun Photo Game at Baby Showers
You will need:
A baby photo of each guest.
How to play
This fun and easygoing baby shower game requires some preparation but is sure to spark conversation and encourage mingling! Ask your guests to send you a baby photo of themselves before the party (try to get one from the parent-to-be as well!). Once you have collected the photos, print them out and hang them on a wall, assigning a number to each photo.
At the baby shower, guests and the parent-to-be will participate in a game where they try to match baby photos to the correct guests. Each person will write their guesses on a sheet of paper and submit it. The guest with the most correct matches wins.
This game is great, even if your guests have played it before; there are always new faces at each baby shower. Guests can easily provide a new baby picture they haven’t used previously, keeping the game fresh and enjoyable!
Twist
Collect current photos of the guests, then use a baby filter to create funny, surprising baby pictures. Display the photos at the shower and have everyone guess who is who!
Prepare for a fun and interactive icebreaker game for the baby shower! To get ready, write the names of well-known mothers on name tags, selecting a theme that suits your guests: celebrity moms, TV show moms, or cartoon moms.
As each guest arrives, please give them a name tag to attach to their back, ensuring that they cannot see it. The goal is simple: guests must figure out the name of the mom on their back by asking others yes or no questions, such as “Am I from a movie?” or “Am I real or fictional?”
This game is a great way to help guests mingle and get to know each other better. While you can make it a competition, most guests will enjoy the fun and interaction without worrying about winning. Keep the game going for 15-20 minutes, then move on to the next activity.
How Big is Mommy's Belly?A Very Popular Baby Shower Game
You will need:
A type of yarn or string that can be cut into pieces.
How to play
Note: Only play this game if the mom-to-be is comfortable with it.
In this fun baby shower game, each guest receives a piece of string or yarn and is asked to cut it to the length they think matches the circumference of the mom-to-be’s belly. Once everyone has made their guess, the mom’s belly is measured using the strings to see whose guess is closest. The mom-to-be can also join in the fun by cutting her own piece of string.
A good idea is to buy a special ribbon for the mom-to-be to measure her baby bump, which she can keep as a keepsake afterward.
Option
Instead of measuring the mom-to-be’s belly with each string, you can measure her belly beforehand and cut a string to the correct length. Then, everyone will compare their strings to this pre-measured one to see who is closest.
How Much Can the Diaper Hold?Unique and Easygoing Baby Shower Game for Everyone
You will need:
Diapers, water, and a measuring cup.
How to play
This new baby shower game demonstrates exactly how much liquid a diaper can hold!
To start, pass around a smaller-sized diaper. Guests can feel and squeeze the diaper before guessing how much water it can hold without leaking. Encourage everyone to submit their guesses.
Once all the guesses are in, it’s time for the testing phase. Begin with the lowest guess and pour that amount of water into the diaper. Be sure to saturate both the front and back absorbent layers, as they are often overlooked. Allow the diaper enough time to absorb the water; it is considered finished when the surface feels nearly dry to the touch.
After each pour, hold the diaper upside down. If no water leaks out, proceed to the next guess and pour in additional water to match that guess. Continue this process until the diaper leaks.
The highest guess that does not cause a leak wins!
If none of the guesses causes the diaper to leak, the participant with the highest guess still wins. However, pouring in the amount that eventually causes a leak can be entertaining, as it usually exceeds what people expect.
Extension of the Game
To make the game more challenging, use a larger diaper, such as one designed for a two-year-old. These can hold a significant amount of liquid!
Match the Parents with Their KidsFun and Engaging Baby Shower Game
You will need:
A list of parents and their children
How to play
This is a fun game to organize at a baby shower. As the game’s name suggests, participants must match parents with their children.
If you’re tired of using celebrities as the main theme and have played this game several times before, consider choosing a different theme. Here are some suggestions:
Parents/children from Disney movies
Parents/children from TV shows
Parents/children from books
Parents/children from royal families
Parents/children from the Harry Potter series
To get started, come up with a list of parents and their children. Write the names in separate columns on a sheet of paper, and then have the participants try to match each parent with their child.
I’ve organized a version of the game where players match fictional parents with their children. Here are some examples:
Karen and Ted Wheeler - Nancy, Mike, and Holly
Arthur and Molly Weasley - Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny
Lorelai Gilmore and Christopher Hayden - Rory
Eddard and Catelyn Stark - Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon
Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Tucker - Lily and Rexford

This fun and lighthearted activity is perfect for a baby shower and serves as a great icebreaker to get everyone in the celebratory mood.
To play, print out a list of questions related to parenthood and distribute them to each guest. The challenge is for everyone to decide whether each question is more likely to apply to the mom-to-be or the dad-to-be. The best part is that everyone can join in, including you, the organizer!
At the end of the game, have the soon-to-be parents serve as the answer key, or ask one of their closest friends or family members to provide the correct answers. This can be particularly entertaining, as those who know the couple well may have different opinions than the parents-to-be.
Some Examples of Questions:
Who is most likely to brag about the baby?
Who is more likely to put the baby in front of a screen?
Who will handle sleepless nights better?
Who had more input in choosing the stroller?

Sheets of paper with categories related to babies and parents, along with pens for each player.
How to play
To prepare, create a list of 6 to 8 categories related to babies and parents. Here are some examples:
Beloved nursery rhymes
Items a baby needs
Famous fictional parents
Print one copy of the list for each player and provide each player with a pen. Under each category, players will write down three answers. The goal is to match your answers with as many other players as possible.
Once everyone has finished writing, review one category at a time to see what everyone wrote. Scoring works as follows:
Every answer earns at least 1 point.
Players receive an extra point for each other player who matches one of their answers in the same category.
The order of answers does not matter; only individual answers must match, not the entire category.
Example: If five players wrote “baby stroller” under “Items a baby needs,” each of those players gets 5 points. If a player wrote “pacifier” in this category but received no matches from others, they would only receive 1 point for that answer.
After scoring all categories, the player with the highest total points wins.
Personal Version
Create personalized categories that focus on the experiences the baby will have with the mom-to-be and dad-to-be. Here are some suggestions:
Locations where the dad-to-be will take the baby
Three phrases the mom-to-be will frequently say to the baby
Names of restaurants where this family is likely to dine
Songs that the baby will hear played in the car by the parents.

Pack the Diaper BagFast-Paced Baby Shower Game for the Parents-to-Be
You will need:
A diaper bag, baby supplies, and a stopwatch.
How to play
In this fun and fast-paced baby shower game, the mom-to-be (or both parents-to-be) gets to showcase their diaper bag packing skills.
Start by placing an empty diaper bag on a table or on the floor, surrounded by typical diaper bag essentials such as diapers, wipes, a changing pad, baby clothes, pacifiers, and small towels. Inform the mom-to-be (or both parents) that they are rushing to a health checkup and have just 30 seconds to pack everything into the diaper bag, making sure every pocket is filled.
To make the game even more exciting, you can conclude it by gifting the packed diaper bag and its contents to the parents-to-be. It adds a personal touch to the shower while helping them prepare for their baby’s arrival!
Place the Pacifier in the Baby's MouthVery Funny Baby Shower Team Game
You will need:
Pacifiers, a blindfold, a stopwatch, and participants.
How to play
This fun and quirky baby shower game is played in teams of two, with the goal of being the fastest. You’ll need a stopwatch to time each group.
One team member will be blindfolded and must try to place a pacifier into the mouth of the other team member (the baby), who will be positioned across the room and can only respond by saying “Mommy!” To add an extra challenge, have the blindfolded participant spin around a few times before beginning the search for “the baby.”
The clock stops as soon as the pacifier is securely in the “baby’s” mouth. After that, it’s time for the next team to try to beat that time!
This game is a fun and silly challenge for everyone, guaranteed to bring lots of laughs to the baby shower!
Pregnant TwisterBaby Shower Party Game with a Twist
You will need:
Balloons, a Twister game, and players.
How to play
Twister has been a popular game for years, and now it’s time to add a fun twist to it - baby shower style!
Start by placing the mom-to-be in a comfortable chair beside the Twister mat. Give each guest an inflated balloon to tuck under their shirt. Next, play the classic game of Twister with some fun modifications. You can follow the original rules or spice things up with these ideas:
Award 1 point for each successful move.
Deduct 3 points if someone pops their balloon (or they could be out of the game).
If one guest pops another guest’s balloon, they lose 5 points (or are out).
Dropping a balloon costs 1 point.
Let the mom-to-be be the judge and give bonus points for spectacular moves and poses.
Keep the game lighthearted and fun. It’s a great choice for an energetic crowd, but be mindful of your guests’ preferences. If you’re unsure whether it will suit everyone, consider skipping the game, especially if some guests prefer a more relaxed or sophisticated atmosphere. The goal is to enjoy each other’s company, not to make anyone feel uncomfortable.
Quiz About the Parents-to-BeQuestions About the Mom-to-Be or the Dad-to-Be
You will need:
Questions about the parents-to-be.
How to play
Create a fun quiz for the baby shower that focuses on the parents-to-be! Depending on whether the shower is for the mom, dad, or both, choose your questions accordingly.
The quiz can be played in teams, where each group writes down their answers, or you can ask the questions out loud and have the guests shout out their guesses. The parent-to-be will reveal the correct answers at the end. Here are some sample questions you could consider asking:
What did the parent-to-be dream of becoming as a child?
Where did the parents-to-be meet for the first time?
What was the first item purchased for the baby?
Feel free to add more questions and make it as engaging as possible!

Say It in Other WordsFast-Paced Baby Shower Word Game
You will need:
Slips of paper and bowls.
How to play
Get ready for a fun and energetic baby shower (or baby sprinkle) word game! This game can be played in large groups, individually, or with the soon-to-be parent as the center of attention.
The objective is straightforward: describe the word or phrase on a paper slip without using the actual words. For example, if a slip says “Due date,” you cannot say any of the words “Due” or “Date.”
Prepare a list of words related to babies, parenthood, and pregnancy. Choose which game variant you want to play, print the required number of copies, and cut the words into individual slips. Fold the slips so that the words are not visible.
Version 1 - The Parent Reads
In this version, the parent-to-be describes the slip while all players try to guess the phrase. The player with the most correct guesses wins.
Version 2 - Timed Pair Competition
Divide the guests into pairs and distribute the paper slips evenly into bowls. Set a timer for 5 minutes, and let all teams play at the same time. Teams take turns describing the words to their partner without using the actual words.
Each pair receives a point for every correct guess but loses a point if the reader accidentally says a word written on the slip. To keep track of the score, place correctly guessed slips in a “plus pile” and the ones read aloud in a “minus pile.” The pair with the highest score when time is up wins!
Version 3 - Team Bowl Relay
Split the players into two teams, with each team receiving an equal number of slips in their bowls. Position the bowls a few steps away from each team. When the game starts, players take turns running to their bowl, reading a slip, and describing the phrase without saying the actual words.
Once teammates correctly guess the phrase, the slip is removed from the bowl, and it becomes the next person’s turn. If a word on the slip is said aloud, the player must fold it back up, return it to the bowl, and run three laps around it before their turn ends. The first team to empty their bowl wins!
Word suggestions:

This fun and quick baby shower game adds friendly competition without taking too much time. First, decide whether you would like to play in teams or individually. The game has several variants; you can choose to play one or all of them. If you opt for all variants, tally up the points at the end. It’s a fun and easy game that requires almost no preparation!
Version 1: The mom-to-be picks a letter from the alphabet. Contestants have one minute to write down as many names as possible that begin with that letter. Each valid name earns one point.
Version 2: The mom-to-be picks two letters from the alphabet, and contestants must write names that include both letters.
Version 3: Give contestants one minute to write down as many names as possible. Each valid name earns one point.
Version 4: Participants have one minute to come up with names of various lengths (e.g., Ed, Ted, Zoey, and Sarah). The team or participant who lists the most names wins, earning one point for each length they cover.
What Does Mom Say?A Fun and Low-Key Pen and Paper Guessing Game
You will need:
A printed text with blank spaces on paper and pens for each guest.
How to play
This fun baby shower game challenges guests to fill in the blanks of a text in an effort to match the answers that the mom-to-be or dad-to-be wrote.
Prepare a text filled with blank spaces. Distribute a sheet of paper and a pen to each guest, as well as to the soon-to-be parent. Once everyone has completed their answers, review each blank space separately. Award one point for each blank that matches the answer given by the parent-to-be. The guest with the most points at the end wins!
You can use the example text below or customize it to reflect the personality of the parent-to-be and the vibe of the baby shower.

Word BattleA Unique Fast-Paced Baby Shower Game Played in Teams
You will need:
Baby-related keywords to use during the battle.
How to play
Looking for a fun and fast-paced baby shower game? This one is perfect for teams of 2-3 people!
In each round, a baby- or pregnancy-related keyword is read aloud. Teams then take turns, with each team having 15 seconds to respond with a word or short phrase that includes the keyword. For example, if the keyword is “mother,” valid answers could be “motherhood” or “smother.”
If a team can’t answer within their time limit, they’re out for the round. The round continues until only one team is left, and that team earns a point. Teams may need to answer multiple times as the round goes on!
To keep things fair, teams cannot reuse or slightly alter answers given in the same round. For instance, if one team says “baby bottle,” another team cannot say “baby bottles.” However, using different phrases like “baby crib” after “baby stroller” is acceptable since they only reuse the keyword.
Once a keyword is completed, you can start a new round with a fresh keyword, allowing all teams to rejoin the fun!
Tip: If people struggle to come up with answers, consider extending the time limit.
